Liverpool defender Agger out injured
2010-08-19 15:31:57
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger Liverpool defender Daniel Agger still has no memory of his team's Premier League clash with Arsenal last Sunday, according to Roy Hodgson.

Agger suffered a concussion after a collision in the second half, with Jamie Carragher signalling that he should be replaced.

However, with all three substitutes used and Joe Cole having earlier been sent off, Agger was forced to return to the field after recieving treatment.

Still feeling the effects of the concussion, Liverpool boss Hodgson has said that the defender will not be fit in time to face Trabzonspor in the UEFA Europa League play-off first leg tomorrow.

"Daniel is not doing that well," Hodgson said, according to FIFA's official website.

"It is three days after the incident and he is still suffering from the concussion. He has no memory of the game."

Hogson also revealed that Agger is also a doubt for next Monday's Premier League fixture against Manchester City, but was hopeful to have the defender back by then.

"It was quite a serious concussion he received and we can only hope it will settle down in time for Monday's match against Manchester City. There was never any question he would be fit for tomorrow.

"He is not able to do very much at the moment because he is still suffering from headaches. Even something as simple as reading a newspaper or watching TV can give him a headache so it is just a question of him taking things easy."
