Liverpool v Tottenham: Team News
2010-01-20 10:01:32
Liverpool (from):
Reina, Degen, Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Aquilani, Lucas, Rodriguez, Riera, Ngog, Kuyt, Aurelio, Cavalieri, Kyrgiakos, Pacheco, Spearing, Darby, Babel.

Liverpool forward Ryan Babel comes back into contention for a place in the squad to face Tottenham after apologising to manager Rafael Benitez.

The Holland international accepted his mistake over remarks made on Twitter and Benitez has now deemed the matter closed.

Striker Fernando Torres (knee) and midfielders Steven Gerrard (hamstring) and Yossi Benayoun (rib) are all out.

Midfielders Alberto Aquilani and new signing Maxi Rodriguez could feature from the start if the Liverpool boss opts for a more attacking line-up at home.
Tottenham (from):
Gomes, Alnwick, Bale, King, Dawson, Bassong, Corluka, Naughton, Huddlestone, Jenas, Palacios, Bentley, Kranjcar, Modric, Rose, Keane, Defoe, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko.

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone has a knee injury and is unlikely to be fit for the Anfield clash.

But Ledley King, who missed the 0-0 draw with Hull City on Saturday, could return to a back four that has kept six clean sheets.

Jamie O'Hara, back from his loan spell at Portsmouth, also goes straight back into the squad.

Alan Hutton, Aaron Lennon (both groin), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (hip), Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Carlo Cudicini (wrist/pelvis) remain sidelined.
