2018-06-08 21:59:35

Liverpool have confirmed Emre Can and Jon Flanagan will leave the club upon the expiry of their contracts this summer.

Germany international Can has agreed a four-year deal with Juventus, according to Sky in Italy.

The 24-year-old signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and has made 167 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 14 goals.

Can came on as a late substitute in the Champions League final defeat, which Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid

Flanagan is an academy graduate who made 51 appearances for Liverpool after making his debut in 2011 against Manchester City, the last of which came in September.

The 25-year-old defender was sentenced to 40 hours of unpaid work and a 12-month community order in January for assaulting his girlfriend Rachael Wall.

Liverpool also confirmed that youth players Toni Gomes, Paulo Alves, Mich'el Parker, Jordan Williams, Anthony Glennon, Jordan Hunter and Harvey Whyte will depart, while Yan Dhanda has agreed a free transfer to Swansea City.

Liverpool said in a statement: "Everybody at Liverpool FC thanks all departing players for their contributions and wishes them the best of luck for the future."

The club also confirmed new contracts have been offered to under-23 duo George Johnston and Conor Masterson.
