LIVERPOOL have been handed a home tie with Barnsley in the fifth round of the FA Cup following the draw at Soho Square.
The Yorkshire side were the first to qualify for the last sixteen stage, beating Southend 1-0 at Roots Hall on Friday night, and currently lie sixteenth in Championship, having been promoted from League One last season.
The sides have met four times previously in the FA Cup, most recently in 1985 when a 4-0 quarter final win at Oakwell, courtesy of an Ian Rush hat-trick, set up a semi final tie against Manchester United.
Liverpool were also victorious when the sides met in 1895, 1906 and 1914.
With only six out of the sixteen teams in the hat being from the Premier League, Manchester United and Arsenal managed to draw the short straw by being paired with each other, a repeat of the 2005 Final which Arsenal won on penalties, and the ties at Bristol, Cardiff and Coventry will ensure healthy lower league participation at the quarter final stage.
